The Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association are extending an invite to all Canowindra residents to their June monthly meeting to discuss the future of our town. Billed as a “practical question and answer session with Cabonne Council,” the event will be held at the Canowindra Services Club on Wednesday, 16 June at 7pm.
President of the CBCPA, Antonio D’Onise said the event arose from a need for the community to follow up on plans and conversations from the last year or so with Cabonne Council.
“In particular, we want to talk to Cabonne Council about where they are up to with the Town Master Plan and funding. A year ago, there was a lot of interest in the Town Master Plan and many people are wondering about the progress of that.”
“The conversation session is about coming along and having an opportunity to hear from the horse’s mouth regarding what is happening in our town regarding the Master Plan and the Town Improvement Fund. It is a substantial figure and we need to make sure that money is spent wisely.”
Antonio said the event is open to all residents and encourages everyone in the community to get involved. “There is a lot of concern about issues around town on social media and Council’s role in that, for example the cemetery. It is really important that those concerned come along and raise interest in these topics and hear back from Cabonne Council.”
“At no time are we limiting questioning on the night to only these topics, we encourage all community members to attend and raise any topics of interest.”
“I would like to ask those who do come along to be very respectful to Council. They do a lot. This is not an opportunity to come and vent frustration, but it is an opportunity to come discuss and be involved in points of interest around town,” Anton
