Have you ever been curious about what happens at the Orange Agricultural Institute (OAI)? On Saturday, 20th May you will be able to see for yourself, because they will be open to the public from 9am – 4pm.
The OAI is home to world-class researchers in horticulture, soil and water, biosecurity, invasive species management, climate and agricultural technology. It is also a working farm comprising of 183 hectares of land that supports 5 hectares of irrigated orchards with over 5,000 fruit and nut trees, grapevines, and a long-term grazing trial with over 1,000 sheep.
Meet the scientists and see what new and innovative technologies and research they are working on. There will be a number of tours running throughout the day:

There will also be farm tours running throughout the day in addition to Spilt Milk, Girls Guides BBQ, CWA morning tea, Local producers, Apple and cider tasting.
A free workshop will be held for farmers in the Orange area focusing on one of agriculture’s most critical issues – securing your farm’s future by growing profits and growing your legacy.
The workshop will run from 9:30am to 3pm and is designed to empower farmers with the knowledge and tools to help them improve their farms financial performance and plan for succession. Hosted by the Farm Business Resilience Program it will feature six expert speakers who will share invaluable insights and strategies. Join the workshop for just one speaker session or join for the whole day.
