Congratulations to the Canowindra High School Oepns Girl’s soccer team on their performance in the semi-finals of the Western Area knockout.
Last Thursday, the Canowindra HighSchool Open Girl’s soccer team played Denison College in the semi-finals of the Western Area knockout.
It was a drizzly, wet day but that didn’t dampen their spirits. The team started with wet sails and were three goals down at half-time, despite playing good defence.
After a motivational talk and some words of wisdom from Coach Cahill, the team found their positions and some confidence. Some great team play saw the ball through to the forwards more often and Lillian found the net with a hat-trick of goals, with the final score 3-5 to Denison.
Mrs Cahill is very proud of the team and how they played until the final whistle. A huge shout-out and a big thank you to Toby Roylance, Liam Beaumont and Thomas Street for refereeing the game in the less than ideal conditions.
