The Steering Committee for the Community Bank® Project has received the information from the surveys, presented to them at a meeting held last Monday. The responses now need to be reviewed and in consultation with Bendigo Bank, a decision on the next steps will be made. There is still a lot of work to be done in terms of securing local businesses and local residents to transfer over their accounts and increase the amount of business on the books.
This is an essential element to the success of any community bank. The agency, ably assisted by the Orange Branch of Bendigo Bank are able to handle all enquiries, whether it be for your business, equipment loans, mortgages, personal loans and credit cards. So if you are thinking of buying a house, or need a
personal loan to go overseas, drop into the agency located at 80 Gaskill Street, Canowindra.
Pledges are still coming in and the Steering Committee invite anybody who has not pledged to pick up a form and complete this as there is still around $20,000 to go in pledges. There is also room on the Committee for anybody who is interested in joining.
Have a look at some of the videos on the Facebook page of the Canowindra Community Bank to see how other local communities have benefitted by having a local Community Bank in their area. There are some amazing stories to see here.
