Glitz and glamour came to town on Friday night, with the St Eddie’s Monte Carlo fundraiser night hailed a huge success.
Hosted by the St Edward’s School P&F, the Blue Jacket Motel was transformed into a pretend casino, with guests enjoying games of roulette, blackjack and spinning the chocolate wheel for fun.
“We’d like to extend a huge thanks to the Canowindra community for supporting this special fundraising event. Whether buying a raffle ticket or coming along on the night to enjoy the fun and games, the P&F are so appreciative of the positive response” said P&F President, Emma Millward.
Bartender Aaron was a whizz behind the bar, creating some delicious cocktails on the night, including a very special one-off ‘Monte Carlo’ cocktail.
The night brought many glamorous outfits, with Alicia Smith taking out the Best Dressed prize of a $50 voucher courtesy of the Canowindra Hotel.
A big congratulations to the 2023 Casino Champion, Kaila Lawrence, who had the most chips at the end of the night and was awarded the prestigious, custom-designed Monte Carlo Night trophy along with a $50 voucher courtesy of the Canowindra Hotel.
The raffle prize winners were: 1st prize Karen McMullen, 2nd prize Michael Lindsay and 3rd prize Eleena Marcrow.
“The proceeds of the evening have raised enough money for our special school memorial for Father Laurie, who passed away earlier this year. Fr Laurie was a keen gardener and always contributed ideas to beautify our school. A beautiful sandstone water feature has been sourced, which along with new plants, will create a special place in the school for the Fr Laurie Memorial Garden,” said Emma.
