NSW State Combined Athletics Championship, Under 15 boys on the podium; 1st Lachlan Rice, Canowindra Little Athletics, 2nd Jozef Cluff (Smithfield Athletics) and 3rd Tomi Reynaldo (South Eastern Little Athletics Centre – SELAC).
After a rewarding weekend at the Kumon State Combined Athletics Carnival in Dubbo, Lachlan Rice secured himself a place on the NSW team to compete in the Australian Athletics Combined Events Championships during the ALAC Carnival next month.
Lachy won the NSW State Combined Athletics Championship in a gutsy effort, that all came down to the last 800m race. His results in the events were high jump 1st; long jump 1st; 100m equal 1st; 100m hurdles 3rd; discus 2nd; javelin 5th and 800m 4th. A big thanks to his coaches, Ernie Shankleton for throws and Greg Wiencke for running and jumps.
Lachy will now go into Camp at Narrabeen in the coming weeks with the State team and will fly Down to Melbourne to compete on the NSW team.
