Game two of the Stage 2 season was played in near perfect conditions at Tom Clyburn Oval last weekend. Canowinda called correctly and elected to take to the crease first There were some great skills on display with our batting. In particular, Sam Breen with his mix of disciplined defence and an ability to dispatch balls to the rope (even over the rope in one instance) set Canowindra up with a healthy total to defend in the field.
Sam Markcrow stole the show with the ball by rattling the stumps twice and also showed a renewed confidence with the bat. Canowindra’s innings finished on 95 runs with Cowra able to get up to 49 in reply.
Both sides enjoyed each other’s company post match, with a sausage and icey pole to wrap up a picturesque days play.
Player of the match was Sam Markcrow and the team player award went to Sam Breen.Training as usual 4:30pm at the nets on Wednesday.
