Canowindra IGA continues to give back to the community through their Community Chest Program, raising $7,308.20 for community organisations.
This years beneficiaries were Pythonetties, Canowindra Public School Breakfast Club, Canowindra Public School P&C and Canowindra Pony Club.
All were overwhelmed with the support received from IGA and the community. Mandy Townsend from Pythonetties said, “ The money will go towards training equipment and uniforms. We are just blown away with the support from everyone. It’s just amazing”.
Belinda Neville from Canowindra Public School P&C was also ecstatic and said, “The money has gone towards the new play equipment that was put up over the holidays.”
A new initiative implemented at Canowindra Public School, The Breakfast Club, were overwhelmed with the support. Lorraine said, “This will be a great help in keeping the program running by buying food as it is not funded”.
Bec Brown from Canowindra Pony Club was so grateful and said, “It will go towards new equipment, more functions and events to be held throughout the year. It is really fantastic, we can’t thank them enough”.
John Lawrence was pleased to hear that they could make such a difference through the Community Chest Program, where people have either bought community chest products or specials throughout the year.
“All of them are worthy recipients. It is good to see the money going back into the community through school and sporting activities,” John Lawrence said.
