On Monday afternoon around 20 people from the Canowindra Hospital Auxillary, Canowindra Garden Club and Janice Rumph the Canowindra Health Service Manager joined together at the Canowindra Community Health Centre for a very important cheque presentation.
Pauline Jani, President of the Canowindra Garden Club was very pleased to hand over a cheque for $6,000 to Peggy Beath, President of the Canowindra Hospital Auxillary.
The $6,000 was a result of the Garden Club’s 2017 Open Garden Day at Noojee Lea. Despite the inclement weather on the day the Club still managed to raise the $6,000 from the entry fee to the gardens and raffles held on the day.
The money will be spent on revamping the Patient Lounge area, previously the Female Verandah area. The area will be redone with new flooring, paint, furnishings and artwork. There will also be a “Quiet Room” which will be put together with the help of St Vincent De Paul. This area will be a valuable asset to the many families and patients that use the hospital.
“The hospital and staff are so appreciative and grateful to Mr and Mrs Curran for opening their beautiful garden to the public and are equally grateful to the Canowindra Garden Club for choosing the Canowindra Hospital Auxillary as the beneficiary of the funds raised on the day,” said Janice Rumph.
The Garden Club will hold another open day at Noojee Lea on 6th October 2018 so save the date!
