Canowindra High School participated in Jeans for Genes Day on August 6.
Jeans for Genes Day is a nationwide fundraising initiative held annually in Australia and their mission is to support families and children with birth defects or incurable genetic diseases.
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved. Canowindra High students raised over $200.
Twelve Year 10 students have been involved in the Batyr program this year and have been completing weekly modules.
Batyr is a ‘for purpose’ preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people.
The students’ goal at Canowindra High is to reduce the stigma around mental health by starting positive conversations and make students aware of where they can go and who they can talk to for help.
The group has been working effortlessly this term to host an event for the student body – De-Stress at CHS.
A whole day of activities and mental health guest speakers were involved. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the group has decided to postpone their event. Stay tuned for a new date!
Students entering Years 9 and 11 had their subject selection evening last week. Parents, teachers and students attended to support students in their choices for next year.
Thank you to all the students and parents adjusting to online learning. Keep safe!
