Households are allowed a two cubic metre volume.
Residents need to start putting out items for the upcoming Cabonne Council bulky waste clean-up. The collection will commence from next Monday, August 9 and go through to Friday, August 20.
The collection may take place at any time during this period, so Council asks that all bulky waste, in all areas across the shire, be put out for collection the weekend before by Sunday, August 8.
“This will allow collection of larger items and will enable items suitable for recycling to be diverted from landfill, thereby maximising the life of this valuable resource,” a Council media statement said.
All items are to be placed neatly next to the edge of the kerb, not blocking the footpath, at your normal weekly collection point. Each household is allowed a two cubic metre volume to contribute to the clean-up.
Acceptable items for the clean-up include fridges, washing machines, wheelbarrows, barbeques, empty paint tins, mattresses, small appliances, floor coverings and batteries.
Head to the Council’s website for the full list of items.
Asbestos, fibro, insulation batts, cement bags, sawdust, tyres, paints, chemicals, cleaners, and unwanted medicines are among the items that will not be collected.
