Congratulations to Oscar Cleary on his selection in the Australian Schoolboys Rugby Union team.
Oscar Cleary has been selected in the number six position in the 2024 Australian Schoolboys Rugby Union team, a huge honour for the Year 11 student from Kinross-Wolaroi. Oscar lives with his family on a farm near Cargo and completed his primary education at St Eddies. Oscar learnt to play rugby with the Canowindra Pythons.
Oscar was a member of the NSW Schoolboys 2 team, which was undefeated at the recent Australian Schoolboys Championships on the Sunshine Coast, against teams of the top schoolboy footballers from NSW, ACT, Queensland, and Victoria. At 16 years, Oscar is the youngest in the team.
Oscar’s success in rugby adds to his achievements earlier in the year when his rowing crew at Kinross-Wolaroi were National Champions in the Open Schoolboys Coxed Quad Sculls. In 2023 the crew were under 16 National Champions. Congratulations Oscar on your achievements
